As you can see in my sig i have the inno3d gtx 980 @ 1480mhz. however even with my custom bios i can't get the voltage above 1.212. is that built into the card to stop any modding from changing the voltage as no matter what i do it won't go beyond 1.212 :( any one else know a way around the voltage locking issue?

I see the x4 in that last one but maybe I searched wrong on their page.

Dunno if they will help but I dont think the voltage has been unlocked fully on any 980 cards without a new/aftermarket bios....someone can correct me if I am wrong (which happens a good 99.9% of the time  )

tried that bios and it won't budge above 1.212v for some reason. i think its hardwired into the gpu which is the first i have seen :(

Wow! Did you try to get a hold of Inno3d and see what they have to say? it is worth a shot.

i'm in contact with peter berkhout. regularly have chats over the phone but he said a bios mod should allow voltage increase but no luck at all :( however it might be able to sort me out the new gtx 980 ti dhs edition as a sample for feedback and then the card becomes mine. seems like i maybe able to start doing reviews again just like old times :)
