Time for a new Chair!

Its been 3 or 4 yrs since I bought my current chair and its starting to show its age, Yeah my big ass wore it out!
I currently have a Serta big and tall high back office chair and its pretty much been disappointing.
In the first year the gas height adjustment gave out and the manufacturer's(Not Serta) fix was to send me a new gas unit.
Yeah not much of a warranty. I beat on it with a BFH with no success. I was lucky that I could take it apart
and take the base to work and use a hydraulic press to get the old one out! That gas unit is pretty much done again!
With that said the chair is pretty comfortable just not that durable.

It used to be you would go up to Office Depot, Office Max or if your city has Staples.(StL does not!) Pick one out and take it home!
Well that sure has changed! I started looking a couple weeks ago and DAMN, there's probably 100 or more chairs out there now!

So, I'm here to find out if anyone here has bought a new chair fairly recently and what do they think about it.
For looks the new Racecar inspired chairs are nice looking, but I'm afraid they may not hold up to 6'2" & 325lbs!
Yes they do offer some heavy duty chairs, but in some of the reviews and comments a lot complain about hard cushions to no cushion at all!
Comfort is a big factor in my choice! That and $400 to $600 for a chair IMHO is hard to justify! But for the right chair maybe?
Ok, lets hear it!

If I could afford one I would buy this - https://www.hermanmiller.com/products/s ... ce-chairs/ - the Aeron model!

I would say to try furniture stores in your area also to see if they have any around to sit on first.

here is a site that lists some - https://www.toolsofmen.com/best-gaming- ... tall-guys/ - and they have the weight limits too so it makes it nice as most chairs (ladders, step stools, eggs, etc) are rated at 250lbs or under.

Again, I am basically no help as I did not answer your question since i have been looking for a chair for over a year now and everything I like is more than I spend on clothes in a decade

First off Thanx for the links! They were helpful.
The Herman Miller Aeron is Nice, but damn at $660 to $1070 thats way out of my price range!

So, yes you have been helpful, the toolsofmen link had a couple of the chairs I've been looking at on their list.
The one thats really caught my attention is the Vertagear PL6000. I've had 2 different 300lb chairs and been disappointed by both, I'm hoping at 440lbs this chair may be what I need! The price is not really in my range normally, but ...That chair is in Neweggs Black Friday ad for $260 Now thats really close to my price range!

Now comes the hard part, getting a $260 chair approved by my financial manager(The Wife) [-o<

Thanx again KnightRid! :)

The old, "honey, this would be a great investment and I wouldn't need another one for years to come so the higher price pays off down the road" lol Oh many a nights I have stared at the ceiling thinking of the perfect words to say to try and get some cool stuff....doesn't work for me very often though, dammit. Good luck!

After a bit of thought, I went in a different direction! I decided to go with this chair.
https://www.officedepot.com/a/products/ ... :17h4h7dc6
It was listed for $80 cheaper and I went for comfort over appearance!
Don't ask me how but, I talked my financial manager in to an inexpensive 4k tv for my puter room!

Looks like a nice chair to me! Just don't spin around too much or you will get sick and then get grounded lol

Tv is sweet! I still have my Panasonic plasma that is only 720p but the picture still looks better than most led I have looked at. I am going to wait until HDR is finalized before trying to talk the money launderer into one. True 4k content is pretty damn amazing though but not from an online source. Buy a nice 4k bluray player and just revel in the beauty while sitting (not spinning young man) in your new chair.

Right after my last post Office Depot sent me a 15% off any 1 item coupon. I was able to cancel the 1st order and reorder with the added 15% off and have it set for a pickup and that saved an additional 5%.
Final cost $155 with tax! Even made the financial manager Happy! :)
Christmas should be good this year with a new chair and tv to go with the desk I'm building!

I will never give up my Plasma's! [-X 600mhz, LCD's cant compete!
The family room has a (2013 or 2014)60" 1080p Samsung Plasma and my old(2005) 50" 720p Samsung Plasma is in the basement serving dbl duty as a TV and Monitor for my Stereo/Video setup!

I'm waiting for OLED's to get under $1k, then I'll think about a replacement for my plasma!
