Stadia - thoughts?

Post by KnightRid »

So Google announced Stadia, its cloud gaming platform.....so what are your thoughts?

I think it will fail UNLESS 5g is brought out nationwide (quickly) because there are a lot of people in the USA that do not have access to super high speed internet unless you are willing to pay $200 a month or so. Yes, it is a world wide gaming system but the USA is still the dominant player and if something works worldwide but not in the USA then Google seems to shut it down (look it up).

I also think Google overstated how unimportant fps and lag is as they are the single most important thing I could think of. 166ms of lag is not a good thing nor is 30fps.

many of these cloud based gaming works simply by downloading the app and paying a monthly of yearly fee to hire your very own gaming rig you can play through any device that has wifi. The idea is good but input lag is bad. shadow tech is another company a friend of mine used and it was a good price but input lag was awful. When their servers are saturated by many users the lag tanks :(
