crashes

Post by Merlin »

Need a little help. System keeps crashing the stop code it lists system service exception wich a google search says is usuallt a driver issue. I have updated all the drivers I know about and there are no warning signs under device manager. Any tips would be appreciated. The system in question in the second one on my signature.

Any time I think I'm having a driver issue, I start up in "Safe Mode" and start up each driver one at a time until the issue rears its ugly head and go from there!

Yep, like camaro said - run in safe mode for a bit and see how it goes. If it comes up in safe mode then you can try and trace it down from there.

SO many things could be the problem. If you post the exact error, driver it says it is, etc then we may be able to help track it down with you.

I may be doing something wrong or not doing something at all. When you say "start up the driver" in safe mode what exactly are you doing? I restarted the system in safe mode and went to the device manager and there were a few items that showed the yellow sign with ! in it and all of those said that the drivers for that device could not load in safe mode. The only two exceptions were two items that are not present on the device list in normal mode. One was Microsoft Hyper-V Virtualization infrastructure driver and it said "windows cannot load the drivers for this device". code 31 and the other was Kaspersky lab power events provider and that one is, i think, linked to the antivirus software of the same name that for some reason will not uninstall. I have tried CC cleaner and the regular method and it just wont come off. It was part of the install disk that came with the motherboard.

Just a thought....
If you tried to uninstall Kaspersky Unsuccessfully and then hit it with CC Cleaner...This may be part or all of your issue!?!
I don't use Kaspersky so I'm unfamiliar how it embeds itself but, I have had others that require a removal tool from the manufacturer!
Check to see if that might be a possibility!
IMHO....I would get your virus protection straight before moving on with any other issues!

I can confirm that kaspersky has caused issue on windows 7 causing bsod. using the removal tool Knightrid linked helped fix the issue. However never had this issue with windows 10.

That raises a question that has not been asked yet!

Sorry guys! I had some family issues arise so I negelcted to circle back and let you all know that I did get it resolved. I believe it was a combination of a couple of things. First Kasper, I believe, wouldnt uninstall because it never fully installed because I said no to the registration. Once I said yes and the program actually started running I was able to go back and remove it. Second my BIOS had a recent update that I had not done which could have, I assume, caused a driver/ hardware compatability issue. And finally Nvidia experience hub and video card drivers could have been corrupted so even though they said all was good I forced a clean install of both after having done the bios and run CC cleaner and Spybot to clean up any lingering issues with other drivers and file fragments. Everything has been smooth since. Thanks fore all the help!! Now I have a new project I need help with but thats another thread. Cheers!
