Sounds good.

Do you think it will affect pricing?

No, but I have a hunch it will affect quality.

A few days back the inquirer had a blip on this deal. I don't believe for a minute that Mikey is interested in high end custom gaming machines. I do however think hes interested in a work around to the problem of how to build systems with AMD CPUs without ticking off Intel. Hence a work around with a name brand high end machine builder whos well known amongst the gaming community. Alien Ware will lose some of their fan base with Dell buying them out. Good news for Falcon and some of the other high end custom builders. Dell will pick up some of those loses with their own average users customer base. [IE: Mom buys Little Johnny a Alien Ware/Dell rig for his birthday present cause she pleased with her Dell] My guess is they will actually get more of a customer base in the long run. For most of us here, its kind of a mute point as we build our own. :beatdeadhorse:

I think this is a smart move on Dell's part. At least now they have access to AMD but hopefully they don't change Alienware too much. While I would never buy a complete PC again, I would hate to see a computer that has a good reputation go to crap.

Dell happens to be one of the bigger sellers of AMD procs. They sometimes have quite competitive pricing on the procs. Hmmmm, I wonder if the volume purchasing that Dell has been doing with AMD procs could very well help to reduce the prices on the Alienware systems?
