I just read this article ~~> http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,1 ... 987,00.asp

And am excited at the thought of this kind of experience. I mean can you imagine playing the new elderscrolls at a resolution of 3840x1024 with 3 monitors that completely encompass your our entire peripheral vision with the game world. There are pictures of this running that look incredible, and I'm sure that the pictures don't do it justice.

What do you guys think, I mean I'd invest in something like this at the drop of my savings account but they ran this setup with a 7900gtx and it crawled at max res. You can do it in SLI but I'm not sure how much of a difference it would make. Does anyone know when Nvidia's releasing there next line of GPU's I know the 7900's just droped but hey we know by this time next year they'll be in the spot of the 7800's if not the 6800's. I was seriously considering a 7900 GTX rig in SLI but I want the power to beable to run current games with the three monitor set up. The reviewer did say that Doom 3 ran great at max res and looked great but D3 is old news now.

Has anyone heard of any other new technologies that'll allow you to run a rig like this?

Here's the pic ~~~> http://www.extremetech.com/image_popup/ ... 281,00.asp', '640', '388'

Comments please!!!

Can the guys at legit reviews do a review on this thing with benchmarcks & FPS #, cards and so on?

I read the article as well and my first reaction was as enthusiastic as yours. However, when you start adding up the cost to truly use this thing to it's fullest, it's almost cost-prohibitive:
Triplehead2go - 300
3 19" displays - $600-1200+
1 or 2 gpu's 500+
then a desk to hold the monitors.

You could build a new computer for that much money. Of course, playing on 3 monitors would be cool. :) :drinkers:

Good Point

True expensive but any true gamer will spend insane amounts of money if it mean greater emersion. Me personally I can't afford to go out and buy everything all at once but a little at a time. The only problem with that is how quickly things in this industry become yesterday's news. I mean granted everything from cars, to dvd players to refrigerators is built with planned obselecence in mind but the computer industry moves so quickly is exciting & frustrating at the same time. My next step for a greater gaming experience will be a pair of stereoscopic glasses to game in 3d I'm just waiting for some new drivers that suport games if FEAR NFS: Most Wanted & Elder Scrolls to come out. Has anyone tried any of these games with this type of device?
