Many of you told me the DFI boards are good, so i went with one. I am getting the DFI LANPARTY NF4 UT Ultra-D.

Also many of you told me its no good without being teaked, well this is what i am making this thread for. HOW AND WHAT DO I NEED TO TWEAK?

Look at my sig for for my sys specs! my ram is at 2-3-3-6 i think. Right now i have an artic cooler freezer 64 pro as my cpu cooler and im at 2.3ghz. I know i can get better.

Thanks in advance!

There is a great guide over at the DFI-street forum (I'd link but I can't get to the site from work). That's a good place to start. There is another site which explains BIOS settings - http://www.rojakpot.com/freebog.aspx

When you start working on it, let us know if you need help.

The Ultra-D is actually a very easy board to overclock with!

The hardest part is getting used to the memory options!

What cpu voltage are you using to hit 2.3GHz???
To start, you should set the HT multi to 3x and the ram to the 333MHz divider......also in memory settings, set the Tref to AUTO (when using the mem divider, as an incorrect Tref setting will be unstable)
The rest of the timings can stay @ stock for now........

Start increasing the MHz a bit at a time, Don't be suprised when it blows your previous limit set by the ECS mobo ;)
Using the "CPU VID Special" setting to increase the cpu voltage also gives better results, try setting the "CPU VID Control" to 1.4v and use the VID Special setting after that......

The LDT voltage liked a little bump to 1.3v on my old SLI-DR.

Once you find the max your CPU can do, lower the CPU multi and start overclocking the ram..........this takes the most time, but to me it's the most rewarding part!

Infinite has a great write up here........

Tips... do lots of reading, and take your time.

I probably spent a couple weeks when I first got my Ultra-D board tweaking it just right, re-running prime95 or memtest every night. It's been rock solid for over a year now, with my 3000+ running at 2.3 GHz. :)
