I've been having troubles since I got my new laptop. What happens is it seems like the computer is having problems figuring out what data to send and to receive. It's as if when I send and receive large amounts of data, there is some duplexing problem, but I'm not seeing an option for force full duplex in the device manager for my wireless card.

My best examples are when I'm trying to load a game, it pauses. It pauses so long, that I time out. When I'm on Ventrilo, the data caches, then something catches up, and it all plays at once. When I try to load WoW, the crap pauses when it tries to load, so it times out and disconnects. Blizzard insists this isn't their problem, and I almost have to agree because the same thing happens with Battlefield 2.

I have disabled my windows firewall, I have opened the ports on my router, I disabled QoS for my wireless card. I can't figure this out...

Any help is appreciated.

hmm, strange. Are there any newer wireless card drivers for you to upgrade too?

The laptop is a fairly decent I presume, and shouldn't be having trouble with stuff like this.

Is the card getting a strong signal? And at what data rate is it connecting?

are you encrypted?
have you run AV AND AS scans?
have you removed and reinstalled the games?
can you try a wired ethernet connection for testing?

Yea, laptop is a Dell E1705... it's pretty damn nice, with exception to this! I'm connecting at my full 54mbps. I'm only ~20 feet away from the access point.

My router is a D-Link WBR-1310. I installed the latest firmware when I got it ~2 months ago. I used to have a Linksys B router, but I transfer files between my desktop and laptop, so a B router didn't cut it. I'm almost positive the same thing happened with my B router.

Yes. I'm using WPA PSK

Yup, nothing.

BF2 happened right out of the box. I only recently installed it.

Yeah I can... just give me a day or two to give her a shot.

Same stuff. Even updated my firmware from 1.01 to 1.03.

ok, so it's not the wireless.
How about the wired transfer rate on the LAN?
how fast?
any unexpected lag or errors?
How about a large internet download? upload?

I'll run those when connected w/ a cable, but w/ my wireless these are my results... download seems slow... I pay for 3mbps service, but these tests don't always mean everything.
