URGENT: What PSU for an HP Pavilion a720n?

I put an old Radeon 9800 Pro into aforementioned rig. BAD idea, the computer either won't start or games crash because the videocard goes to full throttle which is more than the shitty PSU in there can handle. I looked @ the PSU and most amps are on the 5v rail (25) and there are only 14 amps total on the 12v rail (powering an optical, an IDE HDD and now the 9800Pro).

Will this do the trick and fit in the case?

What's the wattage of the original psu, and is it atx or smaller?

250w, Dimensions: 5.9 W x 3.4 H x 5.5 D
NEW PSU is 300w.
Width 5.91 in., Depth 5.51 in.,Height 3.39 in.

Looks like it'll fit, but I'd go with something that's 350w to be safe.

Then again, the 300 could probably do it. You're call.

What about this Fortron? And those HPs don't have proprietary designs like the old Dells where if you plug in a regular PSU it kills it right?

i just fixed an old H-P P3 system and it worked with a normal PSU when I tested it out for a friend.

I would go with this but if your not too rich and want a cheaper one then this should be sufficient.

Uhhh, that would be MAJOR OVERKILL for a system like this (either one)!! I installed the FSP Fortron, works beautifully, but the 9800Pro overheats! Any way to rev up its fan? And check its temp like you would in the nVidia control pane for a GeForce?

Iwasnt looking for a perfect match. I was looking for a stable PSU that doesnt fluctuate 1.0V on the 12.0V Rail(s). And a PSU that is like 300w doesnt leave much room for upgrades. When i had a 350w PSU and i turned on my 120mm fan you could here the HDD slow down. So I uped it to a 600w.

Any way to rev up its fan? And check its temp like you would in the nVidia control pane for a GeForce?

Yeah try to find a program called SpeedFan. Nice little program. It can detect almost all modern temp sensors. The download page is here. The actual link to download (if you trust me) is here.

EDIT: This shows a great example of the first PSU i posted. It shows the Voltage fluxuation. It shows a 0.07V was the most the rail differentiated from 12.0V. Thats prolly a little off. By about 0.1V but you get the jist. STABLE.

I understand (I have an 850w PSU) but for this system, which has reached the end of its life, and the person is only a light gamer, it's enough.

Update: System is running strong with a 9800 Pro, the Fortron and an ATI Silencer (the card overheats otherwise)
