if you plan on upgrading it right after buying it...why dont you just build it all yourself to start?

If you can, try buying a customized PC from
http://www.cyberpowerpc.com.

Narrowed it down to 2 -
http://www.compusa.com/products/product ... _Minitower
and
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications ... 57&CatId=0
couple things to consider - a gaming computer should have a better cpu - at least grab a dual processor. 4gb of memory is a LOT!!! I have 2gb on my system and I never use it all!!!
either one of those computers would be fine, but I agree with pcrobot that you might be better off buying a customized pc online ratehr tahn buying one jsut to throw some of the parts away and replace them. Might want to do a price comparison before you decide.
Mike
oh the gateway has 1gb of memory and the other 512mb, but if you are not keeping it then it wont matter which you choose.
I am disabled myself, so I know how it is!! If you would live close to PA, you could buy the parts and I could assemble for you for free!!

What would be some good PSU's to put into either the Gateway GT4016 or eMachines T6534?Contacted tech-support they both can hold a standard size ATX12V psu.They stop making their PC's with prepatory psu's about 1 year and 8 months ago.Been doing my homwork.

You all are teaching me very well here.

Agree..go the custom route and I recommend Monarch computers. I researched all the on-line builders for months last summer prior to going with them. Especially consumer ratings. I have two and they do a great job of testing prior to shipping systems.

If you're going to go with a pre-built system then I would suggest going with a Dell. Very low monthly payments and lots of extras, plus a good warranty.

Dell is now making PC's with AMD processors in them and if you go basic on some of the components, but use the components that you have listed in your original thread then you should have an outstanding gaming machine.

Will you be gaming at 1280 x 1024 or 1024 x 768? The 7600GT will be able to handle the games at 1024, but for the 1280 i would recommend the 7900GS, and if you plan to overclock the 7900GS is even better performance per $.
As far as PSU's go for the 7900GS the system Requirements are a 400w PSU with 12v of 20Amps. This should just about do:
Antec Smart Power 2 400W
This card is pretty good price right now ($192, with a $20 MIR)
XFX 7900GS
or this
7600GT
Is your $600 budget all inclusive? If it is, its pushing it getting the T6534 and 7
600GT and a decent PSU, and that's not including shipping. I can appreciate upgrading on a budget, but is there anything you can steal from the old rig? Is it too old to consider upgrading it instead of starting from scratch or is the money coming from selling it? and yeah, Dell = Bloatware!

In terms of cost, it'll have to be the C6415.
With the 7600GT and PSU i mentioned (Unless anyone knows of a better cheaper one), the total price will be $595, with shipping extra. It might be worth considering going down to the 7600GS, still reasonable game play at 1024 x 768 with lower price,
Is there no-one that you know that could help build the rig for you? you'd be able to get so much better if you built it custom.
What will you do with the old rig btw?

My roommate has alresdy brought my old rig.That's how I'am buying a new one.And nobody to help me build one.I'am not all caught up on all the prefab mess.As long as my crippled ass isn't sitting here at home allday without a half-way decent PC.I'll be fine.
Believe me once I get done my OEM PC.Will still be a good gamer.

Go with the C6415, add another stick of RAM (for 1Gb to start) and get the best GPU you can with the money you have left. 7600 GS / GT or whatever.
E400-C6415 :: eMachines C6415 AMD Athon 64 3400+ 2.4GHz / 512MB DDR / 160GB HDD / DVD±RW DL / Integrated ATI Radeon Xpress 200 / Flash Media Reader / Windows XP Home / Refurbished Desktop PC (35 lbs) $399.99
E145-7866 :: EVGA GeForce 7600 GS / 512MB GDDR2 / SLI / PCI Express / DVI / VGA / HDTV / Video Card (1 lbs) $149.99
K24-4909 :: Kingston 512MB PC3200 DDR 400MHz Memory (0.5 lbs)$58.99
TOTAL $608.97

Cool,well I'll only need to get the PC and vid card.I've already got 2GB DDR 400MHz (PC3200)Patriot Signature line of memory from my pc that I had.

The C6415 comes with a 300W PSU and I'm not sure that your 7600GS or GT will work with that PSU. I had a 6800GT that required 300W minimum PSU and my new 7800GS requires 350W minimum, so I would think that the 7600 series would be somewhere in that range. If you do buy the C6415 then try to upgrade the PSU.

This
Sparkle power supply should be enough wattage, and it has Active PFC to boot (a good feature.)
Taking out the ram from the price baddad made, you have $549.98. Add the power supply and you get $619.97. Just 12 dollars more, and a great power supply.
