Minimizing Microsoft Outlook vs. closing Outlook

Post by bigblockmatt »

Background: My boss has outlook. he isnt very computer sauvy. everytime he wants to stop using outlook, he hits the "X" - which obviosly closes it.

Problem: When it is closed, new mail messages and appointment reminders wont come up.

Question: Is there a way to have outlook minimize or something instead of closing? I know about minimizing to system tray, but that only works if he hits the "_". if he hit that everytime, i would be having an issue.

Thanks for the help.

He needs to press the "_" if he wants it's minimised to the taskbar..........There's no option to "close to taskbar"......basically if he clicks the "x" then it's closed......

To get the minimise to taskbar, r-click the Outlook icon in the taskbar (when it's open) and select "hide when minimised"

grr.... I was hoping there was some setting like in GAIM that the "X" sends it to the system tray... damn.
