I've had nothing but bad experiences with Monarch over the past year and a half, and even lost clients over them as they were one of our vendors that we always ordered from.

I know the owners Trey Harris and Sterling Harris and they are "down home" boys that'd I'd have a drink with anytime... Bummer to see Monarch go down.

I have ordered from them several times and had no issues. I'm not happy to see them go...competition helps keep prices under control. My biggest gripe with them was their website. It just wasn't as easy to navigate as some of the others (i.e. newegg).

I will personally miss them as well. I have placed MANY orders from them, and never had an issue at all.

my one experiecne with them was when I tried to order my current CPU. They said they had it in stock when I ordered it but after I placed the order they said it was out of stock. It was at launch of the AM2 processors and they never had it in stock they just said they did so they would get orders for it before anyone else. They flat out lied to me in order to make a sale. This kind of practice is what kept me from ever buying from them again.

There online shopping cart they do not update, they allow the addition of outof stock items to your cart, they allow out of stock items to be purchased and charged to your bank card, and never notify you that the item is/was out of stock, nothing on there site would let you know, no phone call to let you know...they just expect you to sit back and wait for it to show up, and then dont do anything to help you get your order cancled and your bank card charged back.
Took me 2 months to get something charged back to my card from the date of online sale.
And it was not the first incident with them.
They lost my business.

Hi All,
It's always sad when a business falls upon hard times no matter what the circumstances were. At one time, Monarch was a highly respected name, I'm sorry to see it come to this.

check [H] and Ocforums, they have taken people for thousands, and it was only with the help of SSS a respected Mod on OCforums, did a lot of them get there money back. They're crooks. I was luck to get my Lian Li in July.

Hi All,
Wow! I had no idea that Monarch was being so dishonest in their dealings with folk. I've gone through the Threads that dicecca linked & was floored.

Back in I believe April we had a client that wanted a new Video Card, and with Monarch being one our vendors at the time, and the cheapest, we ordered our clients equipment from them.
They charged the card ~$430 the second we clicked on Submit, only to find out a week later they haven't had the item in-stock for the past month. Took us 5-6 weeks of constant phone calls with Monarch, it came to us threatening legal actions to get our money back before it was finally returned. We ended up loosing that client during this ordeal.
Ever since then I have never ordered from Monarch again, and I am glad to see that they're going under.

I'm glad to see some of the bad companies going out of business. These companies make buying online harder than it has to be. Just my 2 bits

I have never had problems with them, I have ordered from them several times in the past. I was getting to ready to order a custom built barebone system from them a few weeks ago but their system was having database problems. I guess that now I am glad it was having errors because now I will not be ordering from them....

I've always heard of bad reviews of Monarch computers from reviews on techbargains.com. So like some others have said, Newegg & ZZF ftw.
