Need help buying a new MOBO

Post by HellBent1 »

Hi Everyone,
Currently I have a Dell 8400. What I would like to do is keep everything except the MOBO, and buy a new MOBO to stick in a new case. My Problem is I can't find a MOBO that matches the hardware I have. I need a MOBO that matches these specs:

Around 100.00
pentuim 4 HT
3200 184 pin 400 mhz ddr RAM slots
at least 2 IDE slots
sata connectors
no micro
Will fit in a standard atx case
Reliable and well known retailer

ANY HELP would be greatly appreciated!

won't work. Dell doesn't use standard atx cases, the holes to secure the mobo won't fit.

I know I'm looking for a new MOBO to fit into a new case. I want to take everthing out of my 8400 except the mobo.

Well, you'll need a new PSU too because Dell's are proprietary. I'm not as up to speed with Intel boards as it's been a few years since I've used one but as far as retailers go I find Newegg to be one of the best but Zipzoomfly is good too. Compare!
