LCD market to grow by 50%

Post by Illuminati »

Seems that since "the great price jump" in LCD flat panel monitors about 9 months ago, the inventory has finally increased enough to where manufacturers are finally going to start dropping prices significantly.

The price is expected to drop enough to the point where the LCD market is expected to grow by 50%.
MARKET RESEARCH firm DisplaySearch said that despite the plunge in panel prices over the last few months, the value of the LCD market in 2005 is expected to rise by 50%.
Full Story at the Inquirer

I'm still proud of myself on this one... I bought my AOpen F70PS about two weeks before the price jump last December. :)

Ya... that's why I jumped on the AOpen F70PS when I did... it was 16ms and had a 450:1 contrast ratio... AND it was reasonably priced!

Are there any LCD's that don't ghost when playing games? If not, will there ever be?

Most LCD's under 20ms will exihibit little to no gosting. But you also need to look at the contrast ratio, and bit depth. Most fast pannels are only 6bit meaning that they cannot do full 32bit color. They have to fake it as they max out at 24bit.
