22" - 24" Monitor
22" - 24" Monitor
Just wanting to get some opinions on what people think the best monitor is for around 300-450 dollars. Looking for LCD 22" or 24". A few that i have been looking at are:
http://www.samsung.com/Products/Monitor ... ifications
not currently out yet but its a 24".
http://www.sceptre.com/Products/LCD/Spe ... g_Naga.htm
and then
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6824236011
Those are 3 monitors i am currently looking at. If anyone has any that would be better then post here also and ill look at them. I do alot of gaming, mainly all i do and watch movies on my comp.

The Samsung 226 is a good choice based on reviews that I have read. CC has it in stock.

They have a liberal return policy so that you can find one without any dead pixels (if you live close to a store).

Ive heard the dell 22" isnt that great though. Heard it has really bad back light bleeding and its really noticable if you watch movies or you go from like a dark area to a light area, for example going out of a tunnel into a snow covered area in a FPS game.
I will probably swing by Circuit city and pick up the samsung 226. The samsung 225 was a really good monitor and all the reviews for the 226 says its better than the 225.

Re: 22" - 24" Monitor
Whenever I see Sceptre, I think someone just misspelled sphincter.
One thing you should consider when choosing between 22" and 24" are the resolutions. 22" has 1680x1050 native and 24" is usually 1920x1200 native. If you're going to game, you're going to need a better graphics card just go to get the same frame rates on a 24" as a 22" at their native resolutions. Also, the text size and pizel sizes are going to differ.
honestly they are all good monitors its all about how many colors or how much contrast you want in your monitor oh and price is always a big deal breaker. so look for the best price with the most of the things you want on the monitor. I've found sceptre to have some very nice products my 20.1" lcd is amazing.

From previous experience, I wouldn't suggest a Sceptre monitor. The one I previously used was a Sceptre and I had hundreds of dead pixels after half a year of use. I tried running the dead-pixel recovery software and that didn't fix any of the pixels. For the last 2 months I'm using this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6824252008 and so far I love it (not a single dead pixel yet, but time will tell how good it is, the reviews for it seem amazing though).
I have been very happy with my Samsung 204b 20.1". Purchased over a year ago now and not a single dead pixel or issue.

I'd recommend any Samsung LCD product as they are one of the few that actually manufacture their LCD panels.
