my friend and i were chatting about an HDTV used as a monitor and i tracked this one down on FRYS.com

any feedback on a general idea on using it as my tv and computer monitor?

I THINK IT should work fine without any trouble although through dvi the resolution can only show up at 1366 x 768 Resolution (16:9 Aspect Ratio) , if you want high res, you would need to use the other ocnnector.

gaming it would be good, for everyday computer use it would be terrible

would that be due to resolution? i'm toying with the notion of looking for a HDTV that has the same aspect ratio of a widescreen monitor (if there are any) or as close to it as possible. see any tvs like that, send a link my way ok?

I did the same last year. What I found from research is that the TVs don't have the clarity and sharpness and LCD will have, the text is terrible. Frankly its cheaper to just get a large WS monitor

i use a 27" LCD HDTV for my computer and will never change back.

if you look up the price of a HD computer monitor the price is way out of line. why settle for a 19" "gaming" monitor when you could have a 27"
at the same price or sometimes even lower.

the price of LCD HDTV has came down a lot in the past few months.
and getting more affordable for everyone.

When the 24'' monitors came out, i though they were too big having to throw your head side to side to see crap. But my oh my how that opinion has changed. LOL

With HDTVs and especially 1080p ones its very nice :) I only use to play HD movies off my PC though, nothing else.
