I there is a problem within my tower, something is wrong with the hardware as when i play games or download multiple software a type of siren or warning noise goes off in my pc ( it's not coming from the speakers). The noise/siren can last from 2 seconds up to about 5 minutes, What is wrong with it.
I am no computer expert as you could probably tell but I know ths isn't good. Could it be caused by putting stress on my hardware? I recently took my computer in to a local computer chop and the guy who worked in there put in a Nvidia GeForce 7600 Graphics card ( as I asked so i could play games ) and a new Hard-drive ( Because something went wrong with my harddrive, god knows what though ). The siren noises never occured until I got these installed. I said about my other hardware might have stress put on them because the guy who installed the Graphics card put a Nvidia card in which recommended 350W PSU to run properly ( read on the side of the graphics card box ) and my rubbish computer only has a 250W PSU.... Could this be the reason why im getting strange noises?

I could be the voltage rail alarm, cpu , fan etc. If your MoBo came with hardware monitoring software install it and check that everything is within the reccomended levels, alot of software will show the offending item in a different color. You can go into your Bios and disable the alarms/warnings too.

How do i disable the alarm.. where would i find it ?

sounds like the thermal alarm beeps from the hardware getting hot. When it beeps is it in a pattern? or just one after another?

do you know what the specs are for your hardware, ie home built or bought(hp, dell, gateway)?

You would disable it in the bios, but best to find out the cause first in case it is something like what Bubba is referring to. (you dont want to fry the CPU) With a new video card, it is possible that something graphics intensive is causing the voltage rail to drop and cause the alarm. look for some monitoring software and install it.

I downloaded some monigtoring software but i dont understand it as the manual that cae with it arnt very helpful.

CPU1 = 63.0 ' c ( shown in yellow, could be awarning colour sign )
GPU = 50.0 ' c ( also shown in yellow )
Volatges = + 12V [11.86V] ( shown in white )
= - 12V [12.04] ( SHOWN IN RED )

I think this is the problem
, red seems like a major warning sign, does anyone know if i am right or what i can do to make the hardware better so it isnt in the yellows and reds ?

your CPU is at 63C at idle?

please list your full system specifications as all I gather is you have a 250W power supply and a GeForce 7600 graphics card.

also could be low voltage alarm from the Nvidia card, but I'm not sure if the lower end Nvidia's have it, I know my 7900gt has one

63 seems a bit hot depending which CPU you have in your system and i dont think a 250 watt PS is enough for any system these days. I would definitely upgrade the PS at the very least. Like Apoptosis said, post your system specs so people can help you out.

at 63c then that leads me to believe its a thermal issue, is your CPU cooler fins clogged up? is the working?

On many motherboards, 65 degrees is the default for the alarm in BIOS (and 70 is the shutdown if I remember correctly), so the overheating of your CPU, as others have mentioned, could easily be the reason for the alarm seeing how its 63 degrees in idle. Here is what I'm wondering though, could it be that his 250W power supply doesn't provide enough juice for his CPU fan anymore due to the new graphics card draining it, causing the overheating?

The Ledgend, most likely your CPU is the problem here as was already said above. How long have you had this system? And when is the last time you cleaned all of the dust out of it, especially the CPU heatsink/fan? This could be your problem right there... ;)

No, the system wouldn't be running anymore from lack of power if this was the case. ;)
