Hi all! I need some super smart advice from you guys/gals! I would really appreciate any help since, well, I am in a hurry.
I need to buy a "Mobo" and a nice "Case" for it.
My budget for the "mobo" is anywhere from $55 -> $120 and for the "Case" it's anywhere from $10 -> $65 maximum.
The "Machine" I will be building will have to be a AMD Athlon one that supports x64 bit Athlon of course and have 1 PCI-E 16x slot, 2 PCI slots, and well, support up to 2 hard drives and at least 2 CD/DVD Roms.
Also I would like it to support up to 8GB if thats ok, but 4GB if the "mobo" is "awesome" will do just fine!
So far I have been looking at this baby:
ASUS M2N-E Socket AM2 NVIDIA nForce 570 Ultra MCP ATX AMD
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6813131022
Please recommend me a good MOBO / CASE combo under $160 perhaps? Thank You for your help if any. The lower price and better mobo will be better..
P.S.
I don't need alot of PCI-E slots or AGP slots...just 1 PCI Express x16 really, and like 2 PCI slots, 2 hard drives and 1 or 2 DVD-CD roms, that's it, as long as it's very fast, oh, and I'm not an overclocker, so it doesn't have to be an overclocker machine.
THANK YOU...PLEASE HELP ME OUT!

Alright well there is a lot to say here
1. DX10 is tech for graphics cards. As long as your motherboard has a x16 PCI-E slot, and a graphics card that has DX10 support, you'll have DX10 Support
2. What platform? Intel or AMD? I'd assume AMD from the board you listed but who knows.
3. Cases
Look for cases with 120mm fans, they cool the best and with the least noise
I'm a huge fan of Lian Li, expensive yes but very very high quality and will last forever

Antec is also a good choice
I've used this case in the past and other than the plastic door its a good case.
4. Welcome to LR from the Staff and all its members

okay, if you haven't built the system/have the parts, I would really look at benchmarks, Intel is leading with better performance. That said. What are you doing that you need 4-8GB of memory, and you realize only an x64 os will support that, IE normal windows won't

I have recommendations that are above your spending limits, so I am curious as to what our experts would recommend.
I totally agree with the 120mm fan thing, the case I chose has 3.
Antec p190 case
$50 rebate and still out of your price range. (at least at Newegg)
For the price, I like the Asus mobo you chose. i think it will do your system proud.
Camaroguy1998 may have a nib case for sale.

I don't need a fancy case, just a "box" to put the hardware in, lol.

Hi,
dont mean to go against the grain, but all the AMD x2 systems i have built have had only 1 120 fan in them, and i have never had a problem. you can put as many fans as you want in a system as long as they do not interrupt the air flow. I have had issues with that chip and some MoBo's so i will let the expert (ken?) deal with a MoBo recommendation. Antec case is a good choice though.

hey sleepyhollow!
i always point out that you dont have to spend a lot to get a great case
check out the Antec B-Stock site:
http://www.antec.com/us/pro_b_stock.php
they're all "scratch and dent" types, but i assure you, i got by P-180 from it, and i've got no scratches, dents, or blemishes.
check it out, look around, they're guaranteed to be cheaper than the "regular" products
as for motherboards supporting DX10, like dicecca112 said,
1. DX10 is tech for graphics cards. As long as your motherboard has a x16 PCI-E slot, and a graphics card that has DX10 support, you'll have DX10 Support
check out the LR review on the ASUS P5N-E SLI MoBo:
http://www.legitreviews.com/article/434/1/
its a great board, with OR without OCing, because i know you said you weren't going to overclock.
pricing for the board if you just wanted a glimpse runs anywhere from $130.00-$160.00

if not, i know kenc51 will be more than happy to help you out, his help has benefited me in the past too! GOOD LUCK MAN!
