my ipod has gone under the wierdest thing i have ever seen in an ipod.
it wont work with any connector int the ipod the universal dock apple ipod cords or anything else except for a belkin ipod car charger.

i need to know if anyone who has seen before or any advice except for restarting or putting it into disk mode haven't tried running battery down though.

so the problem: ipod won't respond to ANY cord charger adapter, anything that goes into the buisness end of the ipod except a belkin car charger

the solution: ???????

I had an Ipod shuffle with the same sort of problem...eventually, it stopped connecting with any sort of USB socket. I could sometimes manipulate it in the usb port to get it to charge, but it never connected with the computer, and the computer never said "a new device has been plugged in"

I had the PC version and it was under warrentee through HP, well, they seemed to not give a damn because I filled out the proper forms and they never got back to me. I eventually threw the thing away since I couldnt charge it anymore.

Pitty, I liked it, and now I will never buy another Ipod

What model is it? If its a disk based one it could be dying. Mine did a bit ago and now when you turn it on it comes up with a dead ipod face and a link to a nonexistant apple webpage

I haven't got round to getting new one yet, but I can't just pick up a nano either as I have 12GB+ of music :(

HP made no effort to fix my problem, and it occured only 5 months after I bought it... I don't know why apple makes such a defective device (Why would they make something that dies?). No more apple products for me.

That is because HP sucks. I had two issues with HP. One laptop's PSU just died. The other one died and burned the computer out. The Later burned out first.

I called HP and they said they had no record of my all encompassing extended service plan. Faxing them the receipt didn't help any. They just ignored it. It literally took 4 months of going back and forth, before someone actually did something.

They sent me the box and I sent it out to them. It was returned by Fedex as being refused by receiver. :x So I called them yelled and yelled and yelled. They finally had me re-ship it. With the plan that coved accidental damages, they said there was a 3 day turn around. Yea, maybe they had their employees turn around for 3 days, but it took 9 weeks to get the thing back.

A week or so later the other laptop's PSU burns out. I had to go through the whole mess again. At least that time I knew who to call, and it only took them 2 weeks to get the paperwork "accepted" so I could send it in. I called CS and theys said, send it in. I sent it in. They said the Serial # didn't match the service plan. I explained there was too laptops with two service plans and they still sent it back without doing crap to it.

After a month of fighting them, someone finally said, "We'll just send you a PSU and you can use that box and return label to send the old one back." Why in God's green earth did they make it so freaking hard, I'll never know.

I swore off HP forever more.

I then found out that renters insurance and most house insurances cover laptops. A buddy damaged his, he called the insurance company. They said, "Find someone qualified to repair computers and ask them to price out the parts." So I priced it out for him, sent the insurance a bill. They paid me for my time and paid him to get his laptop fixed without any hassle.

I always through PSPs were crap, but I thought if they covered accidental damage that would be worth it. It isn't. Real insurance companies cover you better with less hassle.

...And HP just sucks. Terrible company, almost as bad as BBYuck.
