ok, i've given this problem to this forum before, but I've got hard drive space dissapear, but I know more about it now. I seems to copy over a disc, like a home dvd to some unknown location, and if I don't delete big files correctly, then I get a loss of hard drive space. any help would be useful

how about a quick rundown on your machine specs, and what program you are using to copy DVDs. Are you trying to do a straight disc-to-disc copy? Sounds like to me the program is saving the rip files to the drive.

Anyway, post up the specs, I'm sure someone will help you before I get home from work, if not, I'll take a look tonight.
