My current system is pretty sick. Not too long ago I would get a blue screen when doing other things on my computer like watching a movie or playing a game while downloading stuff from a bit torrent. I would get some error about my COM Machine_spec or something, registry related and a couple of memory addresses displayed at the bottom.

I didn't think much of it so I just reboot and not run the bit torrent and everything seem to run okay. Now I got it for the last time and I tried rebooting it and the system wouldn't POST.

I tried replacing the memory with 2GB of Corsair 3200 and it booted fine after that, but later during the boot I would get the blue screen and then the no post. I tried using the other set of memory slots and got the same thing.

I tested the power supply on a lower end system and it seems to be running ok. So I don't think it's the Power Supply. I also tested the OCZ memory and that worked in the other system as well.

Last thing I tried was to reset the CMOS data and still got the same results.

If I try to bring the system back to life repeatedly, the system will sometimes post and will freeze during the boot process. It doesn't even get a chance to boot the hard drives. I've also tried to use BIOS and it also freezes in BIOS.

I don't have another 939 processor or PCI-E card to do further testing, but I was wondering if any of you know what could possibly be the problem with my system.

Bad motherboard?

If you leave out your RAM and stuff does it still give you the beep error codes before/during post?

Do you have POST codes on screen or on your mobo to find out what it is hanging at?

Hey, new to the forums, not new to computers .

Have you tried removing everything, except the processor, video card, and memory? I saw that you tried moving the memory, but it could be one of your pci devices doing it...after that, try only plugging in the hard drive, see if it does it then. One by one, slowly plug things back in...it sucks, but at least then you can pinpoint the issue.


Hope that helped some, and I'm not repeating something you allready know.
My bet is either on the Motherboard, or the harddrives, though with it not posting, I'm inclined to say motherboard. Do any of your friends have a MB you could swap out?

I had to transfer the computer to a different case because it seems like these new cases don't care to have a PC Speaker!

So I transfered the mb and stuff and I got the same results. I tried only booting the minimal things necessary and still no POST. No beeps at all.

I bought a cheap PCI-E card to test the video, still got the same thing...

I'm going to go with a bad Motherboard, I'll be getting another one soon.

EDIT: Oh, and I was wondering about my raid setup, will I lose all my data by getting a new mobo? Or a new mobo with a different Chipset? Or is the raid configuration saved on the hard drive, uhh similar to how partitions work? Just curious, I got a lot of crap on these drives...
