Re: 6-Way Intel Core i7 CPU Cooler Roundup
What kind of case do you have it in and did you apply the thermal compound right? It should be a little ball of thermal compound that you dab on the CPU and if you remove the HSF you should be able to see through the layer of thermal compound... Sounds like it isn't seated fully, so remove the HSF and see what the grease pattern is on the bottom of the HSF.

There could be a couple different reasons why your temps are no the same as mine.
Things to check first.
1. make sure it fully tightened. Both the SucFirmII system to the board then the cooler to the mounting system.
-If that doesn't correct it-
2. pull the cooler off and make sure the thermal paste spread evenly over the CPU. If you don't see good coverage clean it off and reapply it. Thin line down the center of the chip parallel to the longest side.
3. Check to make sure both fans on the CPU cooler are both blowing the same direction.
Other things that make a difference
1. Room temp, I keep the room at 72*C ( 22*C) if you're warmer then that, even by a coupe degrees, it will affect your temps.
2. The case & air flow through it. What case do you have? how many fans? Is it flowing good front to back?
3. Type of thermal paste, they are not created equal. I use arctic silver ceramique for the reviews, what paste are you using?
4. The voltage and host clock you are using may be differant then mine. If your running a higher voltage, that's more heat. I run 1.25v, host clock 175, multiplier of 20 gets me 3.5Ghz
5. What are you using to check the temps with? I use Coretemp, its been known to be more reliable then what comes with motherboards.
