The ECS H55H-M Motherboard Review

The ECS H55H-M is a micro ATX motherboard based on LGA 1156 socket for Intel Core i7, Core i5, Core i3 and Pentium processors. The brand new Intel H55 chipset provides full support for Intel’s 32nm Clarkdale CPUs with a HD GPU integrated. Read on to see how this $53 motherboard does and we'll just come out and say that you might be shocked!

The performance of the ECS H55H-M was simply outstanding! It was incredible to see a board like this keep up with the two Intel boards that we tested it against! You will not miss a beat with this in your rig! ECS has a winner here with the new H55 Chipset! The only negative thing that I could really think to write about was the lack of an HDMI output, which would have made perfect sense for a board that fits the HTPC crowd so well. For the most part, you get a great buy here for what you are spending. The ECS H55H-M is the real deal!

Nice overclocking results - almost 4Ghz at less than 1 volt! Great for a budget board if you aren't planning on doing anything crazy. If I weren't going for at least 4.5 stable with extra juice this would be the board for me and I will certainly order this for any rigs I build for every day users.

What were your temperatures while overclocked under full load?

Wow, a standard ECS motherboard that can overclock more than 5%, I'm amazed. Looks liek ECS is starting to do something right for once.

or with so much stuff integrated into the CPU it's becoming hard to screw up a motherboard these days ;)

They've actually been not too shabby since the P45 I played with. Typically they don't hit as high of frequencies and with my snob Liquid Nitrogen or Bust attitude the boards aren't enough but I'm certain for 95% of the population they would suffice. My biggest problem has been the board build quality though, little things that add up and make me shake my head like capacitors with uneven legs soldered to the board :( They are getting better though, their P55 board was decent outside of the silly PWM heatsinks.
