Looking for a slick gaming case with several cooling options and other high end features on a budget? Legit gets their hands on Raider, the latest case from BitFenix that could be the answer to your prayers. Raider comes equipped with three 120mm BitFenix Spectre fans, four SuperSpeed USB 3.0 ports, an integrated fan controller and a mesh design for solid airflow. For under $90 is this one of the ultimate budget cases?

The soft touch finish and the clean mesh panel that goes from the font over the top is very stylish while allowing for excellent thermals. The top mounted 200mm fan port is a unique option and the bottom 120mm optional fan intake is a great touch. This case allows the mounting of up to five fans, with two being 200mm or four fans with three being 200mm variety. Quiet airflow should not be a problem in this case. We loved the USB 3.0 / USB 2.0 cables from the top I/O ports, what a ingenious design.

It seems like the feature set for the ~$100 case is getting well established now and it will be more about the design of the cases then if one has a cpu cut out or bottom mounted psu or tool free drive bays or 2.5 inch hd bay or usb 3.0 front ports or a fan speed controller.

Yet on the design front it just looks too dull to me, rounded and soft and a little fat. It might be $10 cheaper then a NZXT Phantom 410, but I'd rather have that case on my desk to look at. Or Corsairs Carbide case they were showing off at CES.

I think you made your own point. These cases are becoming more about personal preference of looks than feature sets. If you like white, sharp corners, and a more space ship design the NZXT Phantom 410 is a good choice, but in my opinion it missed in a few areas like port at the top for the ATX power plug. While you might view this case a bland, it has more features than most of the current sub $100.00 cases we have reviewed to date which is why it got the editors choice. The Corsair 500R was a great case as well but at the next tier of $120 - 150 price point. The BitFenix Raider had same or better features for lower price which is why the Corsair 500R got a recommended award vs the editors choice.

At the end of the day, your real point is very valid, it is much harder to rate these cases in this price range as they are all coming out with similar features so it is more about color and looks and that is highly subjective.
