This year, the first day of spring fell on March 20th, and for those in the Midwest that means that Tornado season has started. The season has started off slow so far, but dozens of tornadoes have already touched down and more are surely coming. It was around this time that we realized that we have prepared our computers for a power outage, but we weren't prepped for a long term power outage. Of course, always keep a bunch of candles and matches (waterproof of course) around in case you run out of batteries....well except the hand crank one

Or just head to Nate's house as it seems he has a bunch of flashlights now

I'm in an earthquake prone area so glow sticks are the preferred emergency light. Any electronic can spark gas vapors from ruptured lines.

I love Maglites tho. Makes me feel like a badass.

NOAA radios are handy to have as well. Storms usually mess up satellite, in my neck of the woods cable is not an option.
