Does anyone have any useful information to add, such as experience with a similar setup.
Anyone used an ASUS Striker Extreme?
Would the Thermaltake Toughpower 850W be a better choice?
Are their still issues with an Intel Quad on the 680i?

Regarding PSU choice, I can recommend the Enermax Galaxy 1000W, as I have had no issues with that. I have no experience with Zeus, PPC or Thermaltake.

I haven't experience any issues with my QX6700 and the EVGA 680i, except for the FSB OC issue. This should have been fixed in the A1 revision of the 680i generic boards - I don't know about the ASUS Striker as that is not a generic board.

The only problem I have had with my setup, was related to the sound / X-Fi + SLI combo, which for me was removed with the P23 BIOS. I have no other issues now AFAIK, but I haven't really put so much pressure upon my hardware as others have - lack of experience and information.

I just wanted to update this old thread as I recommended the Thermaltake Toughpower 850W... Well 6 months down the road I turned on my test bench PC today and found that the fans would spin up for a second and then it would power down... Plugged in the Antec power supply tester and found the +5V rail is bad... Checked it with a Volt meter and the +5V rail was hardly holding 3V... Another man down...
