Skyhawk PSU ATX12V & EPS12V Compliance Issue
Better check your bottom fan!!
I also would like to thank this website for it's help in resolving the problem with this PSU. I purchased the ATX-GM520SC from newegg.com a few days ago for my eMachines T6520 AMD and all seemed ok until last night I noticed that the BOTTOM fan is not turning. At first I thought it would kick in once it got warm enough inside the case, but no luck. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Forgive me if I'm incorrect about this BUT it was my understanding that this power supply has an INTAKE and an OUTTAKE. The PSU came with no documentation (of course) so I'm not sure BUT I did read on one of the web reviews for this particular PSU that once the temperature reaches 40 degrees celcius BOTH fans - intake and outtake turn on. If I am wrong on this please let me know. I recently purchased an ATI X800 Radeon video card which I THOUGHT had a power connector but it does NOT to my surprise. Thinking I would need more wattage than the cheap 300 WATT PSU that eMachines puts in there computer, I went on newegg.com and bought this PSU THEN found out about the 12 volt rail situation with this PSU which got me concerned about the other fan not working. I do plan on returning the PSU to newegg for a refund and getting a better one since I've read several places on the web that this PSU is not recommended for AMD systems? Anyway, any advice would be appreciated. I have a eMachines T6520 AMD 3400+.

Really there is no need to get a different PSU, this one will do just fine on your system. When i do not run my system at full load, the fan never spins up. So its not that strange that its not spinning on your system. At most your system even with the x800 cant draw much more than 200-300w under full load. This PSU will run your AMD system just fine, mine is running a 2.7ghz 3000+ with 1gb, x800xl, SATA 250gb drive, and 2 water pumps as well as a host of fans. You dont need to worry about the fan, if it needs to work it will. The only problem with the 12v rail is the advertising, they say the PSU has 3 12v rails, while it has at most 2 and even that is streatching it. The one real 12v rail that is on there works just fine and has lots of headroom.
