Im confused?

Post by Eternalist »

Since everyone has issues with the drainage and recharge time...why does this still get a great review? Are all the other UPS's from the other manufacturers really that much worse? I was about to buy this Ultra 2000V for my server at work but now Im not too sure...Anyone got some suggestions for me? TIA

And yes Im a noob...but am sure glad i found these forum!

Just wanted to let everyone know that I have been using this model 24/7 since 2006 and it failed a few weeks back during a thunderstorm here in Missouri.

It was a solid unit and while the batteries in it no longer hold a charge since a surge it did a great job for nearly exactly 4 years.

Asked Ultra Products if I could buy a battery for this from them and they responded with this:
I am sorry, but we do not carry the batteries for these products.
In case you're interested, the battery in the ULT33046 2000 VA 1200 WATTS Backup UPS w/ AVR is the 'HR1234WF2 CSB 12V 9Ah Battery', manufactured by CSB. Here is a link to one location where you can get replacement batteries.

http://www.batteriesasap.com/hrcsb12v9ah.html

The link they sent me has them for $25.96 each... so i need two per unit that is $103.84 plus $18.55 shipping... blah

I still think that is a decent deal. If the tech is in good shape, the batteries are a lot cheaper now a days than they used to be. I used to tell everyone to throw away a UPS because a whole new unit would only be $10 or $20 more but now with being able to get batteries for under $30 each it will save some money.

http://www.batteryspec.com/cgi-bin/cart ... roduct=229 - they are $23 there but the shipping may be higher..??

I am looking at getting batteries for some of mine in the near future, just shipping costs suck!
