Asus dont read this post, pleaseApoptosis wrote:I've been talking with ASUS daily and trust me they are watching the article and the forum thread

I have an Idea to use perhabs all socket 478 cpu cooler those need a retention modul on the Asus CT 479 adapter. (but warranty will be lost...)
You cut a little bit the jumper/pins and the power connector in this and modify the power connector cable. (to the right side outside)
The highness must be vaguely that you can use another cooler.
You will be able to use furthermore the retaining bracket of the Asus cooler to clamp the other socket 478 cooler if you deflection it.

edit2:
This setting will be interesting to bench with pcmark and ohter applications. O_oApoptosis wrote: Multiplier x FSB

I'm working on some overclocking numbers and will be doing a PART 3 to this article now featuring the overclocking benchmarks.
Hopefully can complete it over the weekend and have it posted Monday. Tomorrow I have a video card review to post on the site and then Sunday is Easter, so Monday is looking good.

I think he should get a result near 8700-9000 CPU and around 16.000 RAM score in PCMark 2002.conspectumortis wrote: This setting will be interesting to bench with pcmark and ohter applications. O_o

Aquamark 03 would be interesting, too.

If Asus read this:
Really great work. I hope the P4GD1 (Socket 478 + PCI Express and DDR1) becomes support for the CT-479.
A test on a P4C800-E (supports CT-479 in the new Beta-BIOS) would be nice.

conspectumortis - I got EIST directly from Franck, the person who made the program!
The link is in the article and in the post above. It is really a great tool to use for changing voltages and the multi.
I've been getting e-mails asking what ASUS boards will be supported NEXT...
I just got off the phone with ASUS-USA (yes, they are closed for good Friday, but for some reason they are talking to Legit Reviews today due to the article we posted)
Next on the list is the ever popular P4C800E. The BIOS is due out early next week. After that is the P4GD1, which is the i915P chipset!!!!
The P4GD1:

That is some interesting news that we just found our from ASUS!

The (beta) BIOS for the P4C800-E Deluxe (not the standard version) is already out:

It's logical to think that the P4C800 will be on the list. I'm just not sure how far down it is and to be honest with you I'm not sure if they even have a list drawn out of what boards and when the new BIOS will come out for them.
Not much new in terms of overclocking... All the 200FSB fans should take note this is the best I can do with my hardware. Your results will vary of course.

I ran some PCMark2002 this moring and here are the results...
16 x 133Mhz (2.13GHz) - 7235
12 x 200MHz (2.4GHz) - 7844
13 x 200MHz (2.6GHz) - 7946

Can you verify something for me? I was under the impression for the mobiles that 478 was PGA and 479 was BGA. Your CPUID screenshot says PGA. What type of CPU does the adapter support? I've was able to get 2 1.6Ghz 479 chips for $50ea. They are both BGA. I'm hoping to do beowulf with them running over 2Ghz each

Thank's for the reply. I wish it doesn't take a very long time for them to update the bios for P4C800. Anyway, I will just have to wait. Besides, I haven't found the place to buy the CT-479 adapter.
Do you know where to buy the adapter or it hasn't come out as stand alone product ?
Thank's a lot !
