Intel 1333FSB Processors Arrive - QX6850 and E6750 Reviewed

At the beginning of this week Intel officially introduced their flagship Core 2 Extreme QX6850 quad-core processor to go along with the recently announced Core 2 Duo E6550, E6750 and E6850 series processors. These processors have a new faster 1333MHz Front Side Bus (FSB) for improved performance that has replaced the old 1066MHz FSB processors. Read on to see how they perform!
oh and here is my favorite picture though... 4050MHz of pure love:
Having a Front Side Bus (FSB) of 1066MHz is old news as Intel has now officially moved over to a faster 1333MHz FSB that helps improve performance. The Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6850 is now the flagship processor and rightly so as it dished out the pain with ease. The Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 offers some serious bang for your buck and should be popular this fall for the back to school shopping season.

fantastic read! just from following the articles the past few months, it's insane to me just how inexpensive it's gotten to have a slick, speedy, and powerful rig! i can't wait to get my hands on one of those E6750's!

Performance upgrade with a price cut and still overclocks well, that sounds good
Great article, but nothing too surprising again for Intel, now I can't wait to see if Phenom will end up like Netburst or more like Conroe

Good review Nate, but I'm still undecided if I should go with a Quad or one of the new 1333 CPU's (E6750). I really don't do all that much work on my system, mainly OC'ing and a bit of gaming, so I don't know if it's worth getting a Quad or not.
With prices like these coming up sure makes it hard to pick which one to get.

Great post guys!
Just a thought about the winrar 3.70 benchmark...Isn't the processingpower of a Algorithm benchmark represented in operations per clocktick instead of Mb/s?

I'm glad you brought up this point. I'm somewhat at a crossroads as well. What processor should I buy? I don't want to spend more than $400.00 on one, but I don't want to NOT spend an extra $100-$200 if that will give me more mileage out of my processor. I think Intel clearly has overtaken AMD, but which one should I go with??? Any suggestions would be helpful and very much appreciated.
I LOVE gaming, and streaming video of Movie trailers, and that is about it other than listening to music, etc.
Thanks and great review!

Well bar really new games, like Alan Wake, most are single threaded. Unless you are doing a lot of video/music encoding then you won't see and difference in the 2 to 4 core jump.
Personally, I'd say stick to a dual core for now, as they run a lot cooler, and you won't see that much of a jump in performance for quad core unless you are doing lots of CPU intensive stuff.

Excellent review. I was thinking about ordering an E6750, and after reading the review my mind is made up.

The E6750 is a monster in the right hands... For it's price point it can't be ignored.

Thanks Dan. I'm thinking about it. I just have the itch to upgrade SOMETHING.

That would be my choice out of the chips I would get during this price cut.

If I wasn't trying to put together a second system, I would have liked to of held off for the next generation as they are coming out before much longer and MSI is currently testing them on my MoBo as we speak......................

I sure will, you can count on it...............

I'm only shooting for something around 3.8 GHz to be honest, anything over that is just gravey..............
