CES 2008: Arctic Cooling - Freezer Extreme CPU Cooler

Arctic Cooling unveiled a few new products at CES and we were able to get a look at a prototype product as well. Legit Reviews was able to take a sneak peak at an upcoming active RAM cooler that will be out next month if all goes as planned. We also have the scoop on the Freezer Extreme CPU Cooler, so read on and take a look.

It's constructed out of aluminum, keeping the weight to a minimum and the heatpipes act as a stabilzer for the large number of fins on this beast. Arctic Cooling estimates a February launch and they are currently in production.

Is the fan in the middle of that cooler? or is there a not shown mounting mechanism?

It's very hard to see if a fan is in the middle. :-k

One would thik that a fan should be in the middle since the cooling plates are very dense compared to other heat-pipe cooling solutions like this.

There was no fan in the middle, it would be a side mount. It likely uses clips for the fans but the rep didn't have a sample. It looks heavy but it was actually fairly light.

It'll be good to see how this cooler fairs against the lot.

There is one good site that review these types of heat-pipes with good success and that's Frosty Tech. I wonder if a few reviews are in the works over there as CES has taken the spot light rolling out 2008 products.
