Under the Test Setup when clicking on the Intel live pricing for the processor Intel QX6850 the AMD Phenom X4 9500 Quad-Core Processor shows up. LOL.
Anyways, AsRock has always been a MOBO of choice for my brother to build systems with. AsRock always has some type of niche compared to the other MOBO makers. I remember a certain AsRock MOBO that had a socket 939 and socket 754 on it for a flexible upgrade path. Even today that holds true with the offering of the WiFi NIC tucked between two PCI slots.

I just got an e-mail from ASRock over in Taiwan that answered some of the things we pointed out in the article.
That answers why the power connector is located where it is and why we couldn't find the CPU multiplier as it was hidden. Intel Speed Step has to be disabled before the multiplier option appears in the BIOS...There are 2 points that I'd like to explain.
1. Regarding the location of 24-pin power connector:
In our R&D's opinion, the location of 24-pin power connector is related with the power quality and consumption.
If the 24-pin power connector is on the center of the board, the paths of power from connector to CPU and PCIE slot will be shorter and wider.
It helps to get good power quality and less energy loss. Good power quality is helpful for the stability of the system.
We know that It is no easier for customers to install power connector and assemble other components.
But compare assembling effort and power quality. Our R&D think power quality is more important.
That's why we have this layout.
2. Regarding adjusting the multiplier:
The multiplier is allowed to change. It needs to disable " Intel Speed Step tech".
