I want to test the powers of the Overclocking on that Board, I need to upgrade from my small AMD XP 2500+. I planned on buying a whole new system but if I win this then I will be ahead a little because I am low on cash.
AMD rocks so I want to stick with them. From the review it looked stable and OCable. Has all the basics and all I'd ever need from a 64-bit. Basically I want it bad and I need the upgrade. I've never had Chaintech before and I want to try out their boards. And my friends told me that the NF4 is the way to go.

send your entry in the form of a pm....and the winner will be picked in 10 days.....
I think, with some mods, this board will O/C just fine. I like Chaintech, and with an active cooler on the NB, and maybe some water cooling, this board should be a good performer.....but those asre things i can't base a review on, I can only base it on what I recieve.

As capper said, the entry must be in the form of a PM... but if you don't mind letting your competition read what you write, go ahead and post a copy of your entry here so you can entertain the rest of us!

I wanna throw it under some nitrogen and see if i can't get 3.5ghz outta a winchester. I think it'll need a vtt mod, and a tub of conformal coating, some beer, and a nice saturday afternoon....try to get a world record. It's a good idea, I think.

May we criticize? For social purposes only of course...

Well who needs one that fast and not stable? I'd use it as my main comp not as just some board to use once and push its limits. Instead treat is as if it were my child...

me me... right now im running my memory at 253 (ddr506) at 2-2-2-8 and 3.3v. I hope to have my cpu up around 2.7ghz by the end of the week. I need that kind of overclocking. why because i am a 120lb weakling who makes up for his lack of manhood with computers :)

You don't have kids, do you...they are highly unstable things.

If an overclock is not stable...then it is not an overclock. It's a waste of time.

Do you have any benches yet?

Here's why i ask...I get 6127 in 3dmark05 with XTPE @ 531/558, and the cpu @ 2250mhz...in 754 flavor and air. THis has me faster than alot of 939 systems out there(with water yet!). Now, granted, I could beat just about anyone given the same hardware( I wish it was me at Texas, because I am sure i can break 9k easy) because i know how to optimize and turn off unnessecary processes, but if you cannot get better performance, or not much more than i got in 754, then maybe 939 ain't all it's chalked up to be.

well my cpu has done 2.7 in the same stepping around the web on air, so if im lucky i will be running at 2.7ghz and 246 2-2-2-8 with a x800xl 256 so we shall see. i will be more than happy to show you some benches.

I am so interested because the board you are using is the board that i want to get, should i go 939. My v-data mem loves 3.6v...but i cannot get the VTT to track high enough to keep it stable, and that board should do it.

unless your a crazy overclocker then i dont think there is much point to you upgrading. There is a difference from my xp to my a64 but i have to say its small. i dont think you will see enough difference moving from a skt 754 to skt 939 most of the time its a 5% difference. The only reason to switch to this platform is for the tweaking options.

LoL. Just remember you are talking to the guy with a dedicated 2x120mm rad loop for his videocard. I'm on page 12 of 3dmark05...that's not high enough.

The thing is, the hardware that i have, like the videocard and mem, are both capable of more...I mean really, alot of people are struggling to get thier systems to break 6k in '05, and with similar, if not better hardware than what i have.

The biggest thing that is holding me back right now is lack of vDIMM/VTT, and cpu. This CPU won't stay stable over 2.6, and although i can bench in it, that's not what it's about for me.

Like posted earlier by another...who care's, if it's not good 24/7? Since all my rigs fold 24/7, they must be 1000% stable.

So, crazy overclocker, maybe, yeah. I spend most of my day doing nothing but overclocking(I'm fortunate in being married to a wife who makes good money, and lets me stay home with the kids. I build pc's for cash for my systems).

well if thats the case then i highly recomend the dfi, but then you and i should move this conversation to that thread.

Agreed children are a waste of money until you get old and they take care of you.

However the point was I would protect it and care for it alot.
