Thecus N5200BR NAS Server Review with 5 drives in RAID 6

Are you looking for a five-bay hot swappable network attached storage server that can handle RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10 and JBOD arrays? If so, the Thecus N5200BR might be the right server for the job. With a built-in 4 port Gigabit switch with IP sharing and support for 802.3ad based load balancing and failover the N5200BR packs a mean punch to say the least.

I dug up five Western Digital WD1500 SATA Raptor hard drives to use in the Thecus N5200
Are you telling me that you had 5 of them just laying around?!?! =P~

Where have you shoved that noisy NAS? It would kill my ears to have it in a room that is used lots.

Very interesting product. Is it possible for the NAS itself to run scripts/daemons? A Bittorrent client would be slick :supz:

you would be surprised, and yes it would make you cry

I've been eying this thing for a while now at Nate's, every time I got a little close to it or asked if I could "borrow" it all Nate would say is NO

I want one of these! (Or the 4 drive version) - Just add 5x 1TB HDD's and I'd be set for storage (In our house we download ~200GB per month)
