EVGA GeForce GTX 260 Core 216 Superclocked Video Card

couple days ago the great and powerful forces over at NVIDIA launched a new graphics card called the GeForce GTX 260 Core 216. This new graphics card was launched to fill the gap between the GeForce GTX 260 and GeForce GTX 280. What gap might this be? It would be the gap where the ATI Radeon HD 4870 would be performing at. Read on to see how this new graphics card does in the benchmarks and we also overclock it and run F@H on it to top things off!

With the "defective" GPUs that NVidia has been churning out why should anyone chose the 260 over the ati 4870?

Not bad. I didn't think the overclocked version could be pushed that much more. I might give that a try on mine. Thanks!

yup, you can push it beyond the Superclocked settings without a doubt. I switched from a GTX260 to the GTX 260 Core 216 on my office PC and have left it overclocked 24/7 at 700MHz wiht the shaders at 1509Mhz... My folding performance is great.

With the card overclocked it's folding at 59 seconds or so a step and that is with the computer being used for office stuff. I've also noticed a 1,500ish point per day increase with this card and the overclock. (Before it was a default GTX260).

do you know if other companies will release a version of this new GTX 260? (specifically XFX?)
