Foxconn Digital Life ELA P45 Motherboard Review

Every day there's a good chance you use a Foxconn manufactured product without knowing it. The last two enthusiast boards from Foxconn were phenomenal but Foxconn is trying a different route with the Digita Life ELA P45. Instead of overclocking they are targeting the multi-media crowd. Read on to see how Foxconn manages to switch things up.

The Foxconn Digital Life ELA isn't an overclocking board but it has an overclocking board price. Priced at $240 on Newegg, this board is competing against boards such as the Gigabyte EP45-DQ6 and Asus P5Q Deluxe, both far superior overclocking boards. If the board were priced around $150 to $170 it would make more sense. Another route would have been to make it an mATX format to cater to the HTPC enthusiast.

It really is a board with no definite purpose which was disappointing. Just received a new BIOS that'll be available in roughly one week so re-testing the overclocking. Maybe they made some positive changes :P

New BIOS had broken CPU vCore but working CPU dividers. Contemplated doing a vCore volt-mod but figured I'd way for Foxconn to fix the BIOS. If they fix the cpu vcore this board will go under LN2 along with the Rampage Extreme on Monday 8)
