EVGA GeForce GTX 295 SLI Video Card Review
The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 295 combines the power of two GTX 200GPUs on a single graphics card. With a total of 480 processing cores and 1792 Mb of video memory, the GeForce GTX 295 might just be the fastest graphics card available on the market today. Read on as we compare the EVGA GeForce GTX 295 to the Radeon HD 4870 X2 in the latest and most popular game titles.
"The EVGA GeForce GTX 295 graphics card has solid performance numbers and was hands down the faster card after the benchmark numbers were averaged out and the wins added up. If that wasn't enough the GeForce GTX 295 is also more energy efficient! Since the GeForce GTX 295 takes up the same number of slots, performs better and uses less power doing it there isn't really anything negative to say about the card. It comes into the market as the flagship card from NVIDIA and successfully took away the performance crown from ATI without a big fuss..."

Those 3DMark Vantage numbers are impressive. Would kill for a pair of them

Any chance you'll tear the cards apart? Really interested in the PCB design and the heatsink.

We'll see if they'll enable SidePort on the HD4870X2 now. It's a link that has otherwise remained dormant. Don't know if it'll actually do anything though, guess we can only wait and see

I didn't notice any measurement of how hot this card gets.

Isn't this card almost vaporware?
I've read that there will be very limited supplies.

Just to keep our community in the loop I got this card from EVGA on Saturday at 11am and the latest NVIDIA drivers on Friday night from their FTP. I woke up saturday and did this review from start to finish and it was posted on monday -
http://legitreviews.com/article/862/1/
I then crashed at 12am and woke up and started benchmarking the EVGA GeForce GTX 295 and right when I got everything going smoothly the hard drive failed in the test system -
http://forums.legitreviews.com/about19310.html
This drive had 15 PC games on it that were all legit and registered online... Some of my copies were at their max for DRM and when I went to re-install everything and update it they wouldn't let me do it online. It took 7 hours to re-install the OS and games and I went to bed at 3am when that was setup again. I woke up Monday to finish the article and got stuck doing a marketing kit for CES (which is where I am at now) and to plan the over 45 meetings we have this week. That day I benchmarked the card till 2am and then left for a 7am flight that we missed due to ice:

So, this review was completed in less than 24 hours time... My apologies that things like temperatures were not included, but I have all the GPU-Z screen shots and data at home. I'll post them up when I get back. For a review that was written while I was at CES in-between meetings I think this came out great, but everyone has my apologies as I don't think it is up to the level that I normally do.

I'm just glad you took the time to actually get it written. Most people would have said screw it and do when after CES.

Thanks for the post! I'm surprised though that you didn't post GTX 280 #'s since this is essentially replacing it.

I hadn't read the article before I posted, but now that I see the performance numbers, especially power consumption, it looks like nVidia has a killer here. Paying the extra premium for it hurts, though it isn't like what the 8800 ultra was when it came out.

Here are the CPU-Z slides that I left on my USB key at home when I was at CES:

- geforce_gtx295_gpuz2.jpg (49.33 KiB) Viewed 9092 times
It shows the card to idle around 48C on one core and 41C on the other.
