ASRock N7AD-SLI Motherboard Review

ASRock has recently been including a feature called Instant Boot on their N7AD-SLI motherboards and claims that it only takes 3 to 4 seconds to boot up to Windows. Read on as we benchmark the ASRock N7AD-SLI motherboard and overclock it to see what it can really do. We also tossed in a couple of videos to better explain the board layout and BIOS functionality.

This N7AD-SLI motherboard from ASRock certainly had potential to be what it was created to be: an affordable enthusiast board that, while not a top dog, would be a great overclocker, and a board that would allow for upgrades like SLI. Performance on this board was decent, but we were left wondering how much better it would have been if we had not had the limitations that we had in setting our DDR timings.

Just a quick question. Doesn't it seem like the market is already flooded with socket 775 boards? Did we really need another?

well Gigabyte has 40 Intel chipsets to pick from on LGA 775 motherboards and then 16 more by VIA, SIS and NVIDIA.

After you figure out which of the 56 chipsets you want to run you then have to pick a board...

Let's say I want an Intel P45 Express chipset for my platform...

Gigabyte then has 16 different P45 motherboards to pick from....

I agree that companies have actually made too many options for us to pick from. It would be interesting to see someone benchmark one board of each of the 56 chipsets that support Intel LGA 775 processors by Gigabyte to see how they fair.

I think 2009 and the shrinking economy that you will see many companies reduce what they are making just to save costs.

Wow, I knew there was a lot, but never imagined THAT many!

I can see maybe 8 different boards maybe 10 at the most extreme but I don't see how they can support selling that many different ones. Maybe language localizations?
