"The past few weeks have been a pleasure to use the ASUS N10Jc-A1 Netbook as toting around a 17" screen laptop has really become a chore over the years. Never again will I need to walk out of the house with a clunky laptop when I can just grab a 3-4 pound netbook. The ability to take an inexpensive, fully functional PC on the road is only part of what is making the netbook market explode right now. The other part is the state of the economy. Given the current recession, consumers are looking for more affordable ways to get an upgrade or satisfy their electronics addiction. The performance of the ASUS N10Jc-A1 was actually a little more than I expected..."

In my opinion, these kinds of netbooks not worth it. I think it's been debated before, but for $650 USD, I'd rather get a full size 15.4" or 14" laptop that might come with a GPU.

The 8.9" netbooks are the ones I'd get. They're a bargain for $200+ USD. Now if only Ion comes out within the next week, or so and we'd have what could be considered as the best bang for buck netbook.

I have to agree with geokilla, this in the pricerange of a 14" laptop that has a larger keyboard, dual core processor, and higher resolution. I would personally buy something a bit bigger even if it is heavier. If I want a netbook, I will buy a sub-$300 netbook.

Agreed, it's a bit much at $650. I bought a Dell Mini 12 for $550 and it was a bit much, I'd say netbooks should be sub-$500 shipped.

Definitely too much. All netbooks are supposed to do is get on the net and do basic stuff in my eyes. No need for graphics cards. :?

I typically agree with everyone's feedback... I went back and forth on the relevance of the graphics card myself and ended up with the conclusion I did. Gaming was not really an option in my eyes since the processor could not keep up with the GPU. but if you don't care about frame rates or play less demanding games, then maybe the GPU would be worth it to some... thus my back and fourth thoughts on the GPU.

As for the price, I can understand that with the fingerprint scanner + GPU that the price is going to be higher than a standard netbook, but I don't necessarily think that both of those features should be on the same netbook.

I am looking forward to getting our next netbook for review!

are you gonna to give this out. I wan tit:).

netbook sure is getting better and better. Man I think finally we will see a true portable system that is also powerful. I can't wait to see dual core getting into netbooks and hopefully a slightly more powerful gpu.

Anyone know if Netbooks will ever get Dual Core CPUs? Part of me wants to get a netbook now, and part wants to have a netbook with a dual core.

I believe Intel is releasing new Atoms soon. It should be out by Q2 or Q3....Apop would know for sure.

sure you'll see them down the road as the new Atom processors also have integrated graphics on the CPU, so that will be big news for netbooks. Personally, I'll purchase a netbook for myself when that generation of processors comes out as well.
