Mushkin's XP4000 Redline memory modules aim at eliminating the memory as a potential bottleneck when overclocking. With 2-2-2 timings at DDR500 these modules might be able to do just that. Get the active cooling ready and crank up the voltage, because Redline memory has arrived.

Mushkin Enhanced Memory has been a player in the DRAM market for years and just recently has taken another jab into the heart of the enthusiast market. This time around Mushkin has secured a number of Winbond based UTT IC's that have been packaged per their requirements. The end result was not only a new part number, but a whole new memory series called Mushkin Redline XP (Extreme Performance). Mushkin states that their Redline memory series eliminates the memory as a potential hardware bottleneck when overclocking their DDR1 systems. Today, we take a look at their XP4000 2-2-2 Redline memory and see if it is all that Mushkin says it to be.

nate, wasn't this the stuff you reviewed and found that the timings were not right because of the unbufferened ibcs or something like that?

hum... i'm not sure what you're talking about... LOL

The timings on these modules are fine. I was able to hit some good numbers with these modules. I was able to get 2-2-2 timings at 546MHz with 3.7V

So what kind of cooling did you guys rig up for this test bed?? Active RAM cooling isn't that common so I'm always interested to see what kind of stuff people rig up to add an extra fan or two! :)
