A 1GHZ overclock on air cooling - WOW!!! You could accidently ship that cpu to me rather than sending it back, you know :)

My lord - it beat the skulltrail!

If it werent for the $1000 price tag, I would have to look into one of these puppies!

Mike

Could these be run in dual config on the skulltrail? I dont think the skulltrail is i7 compatible, but i figured I would ask.

I think you should set that up for a folding machine :supz:

Nope they are different sockets... I am thinking about moving over to an LGA1366 system for one of my main PC's, but can't figure out what SSD to use and if I want to install Windows 7 RC or not...

Word, I could get one hell of a tricked out handgun for that price, or almost a full blown Phenom II system.

This is very significant and it's no wonder Intel recently announced that the QX9775 was being discontinued.
What do they do with these processors that are astronomically priced and do not sell? It seems like if they lowered the price to a more affordable range then they could still sell them and make back some of their money.

Had a few people ask about Core i7-950 performance results via e-mail and while I don't have one I configured my Core i7-975 to run with identical settings and got this in Sony Vegas

Looks about where I expected it to be.

Let's just say they didn't make that many. There might be a couple dozen on store shelves if I had to take a guess.

You should be able to build a full blown Phenom II X4 955 for less than the price of this processor - True

A very nice piece of silicon. Running 3D06 at 4400MHz on air is impressive, most people need high-end watercooling to accomplish that :supz:
