good review Yves; btw, had one question as I'm not familiar with BTX: what is the difference mainly, besides where everything mounts? becase personally I'm rather fond of ATX since I know its orientation better. Otherwise, kick-ass case I must say

Balanced Technology Extended (BTX) has been in the works for years. I remember seeing the first BTX cases and boards in 2004 when I was in Taiwan for Computex. Over a year later they still have not caught on. With Intel's recent move from desktop to notebook processors I am not sure if the move is really needed now as heat was the reason for BTX. The design is solid though and makes more since that ATX when it comes to airflow.

Better airflow in a BTX form factor eh? Well, perhaps as stock it does, but you could mod an ATX tower, knowing its limitations and orientation of components, and come out better in a good deal of cases. It just looks to me that Intel's in the market to bring out something proprietary, which is probably the reason it isn't popular, yet. I dunno, I just really am not fond of the BTX architecture, mainly because I'm not used to where everything is oriented; what's the saying....."Go with what you know"...think I'll do that, lol.

Maybe you mentioned it in the article, but what did you use to mount those SCSI HDD's in the 5 1/4" drive bays? I noticed that there were only those two 3.5" drive bays under the mobo. Doesn't seem like this case makes it very easy to use 3.5" drive devices such as floppy, card readers, multifuncion displays, fan controllers, or zip drives...

I agree though, the power button and USB and other front panel I/O stuff could have been located a little better.

There are three 5.25" to 3.5" adapter/drive rails that are included with the case. I used another 3 that I had to mount all 6 drives in the front.

HAHA, yeah, I was thinking the same thing too!

Its really not that huge, when i put it next to my other midtower its only slightly taller, they just did a decent job laying out the internals.

its a beatiful case, I just don't think I could get as good airflow with my Antec 3000B

Just got this from Aerocool:

The case you got is the sample but the final production which is those in the market now does comes with a set of extension cables if user come across the same issue like yours with certain motherboard.
Therefore, basically with the extension cable that we had included in Masstige and Coolview, it will have no problem with any motherboard.

Solves the issue with the front USB cable being too short!

they can for sure, that motherboard is a standard ATX board, as for the new wires thats great news, i was really bumbed as mine were just an inch or two short.

Thank God for companies that take care of just about every detail, lol.
