Transcend JetFlash 110 2GB Flash Drive

Floppy drives, CD's, and even DVD's are becoming obsolete as removable media in this day and age. Everyone wants something indestructible, something lightweight, and most of all, something big in capacity. Today we take a look at something that hopes to fulfill all those requirements, as well as retaining good transfer speeds.

The hellfire test: 150 Degrees F on the Oven, a very hot day in the desert, before we crank it up to a blistering 200 degrees! The drive does it flawlessly without a croak. We are sure it could have gone higher, but unless you are dropping your drive into a bed of lava, it is not needed.

some how i dont think the PSU I have to test next will hold up under the Ice Cube test.

Its hard trying to figure out things to do to such a simple thing, but every little bit goes a long ways.

Rather than simply testing data speed, I felt that I should do something that you might be able to apply to real life.

Nice review.... I never tought flash drives are so indestructible...

Have you tried to install xp or linux onto it yet?

I got a 512mb stick for €30, use it to run Feather Linux, installs in 120mb, leaves me with 300 odd mb for storage... ;)

Totally forgot to do that. My motherboard should support it. I just don't have a big reason why, not to mention im not a linux man =(

Installing feather linux is EASY!!! Just extract the zip file to the drive, download syslinux, and run a simple command!!

It only takes up 120mb, Boots into a desktop and is very easy to configure..
Perfect to use incase you need to rescue some files (reads ntfs)

Whats 120mb when you have 2GB!
