Join us as we look the CM V6GT over and put it up against some of the best performing coolers out on the market today.

Cooler Master said that the V6GT would outperform the V8 in their reviewers guide, and it did just that. The new Double V heatpipe arrangement and the Inclined Fin Array is a step in the right direction, but it could also have been the twin fans pumping almost 100CFM each through the CPU cooler.

I put this cooler on an AMD system today. Took some quick pics to show how it clears the RAM

The Board is an ASUS M4A785-M the RAM stick is an old stick of DDR2 HyperX I had laying around. The Heat spreader is at most a 1/8" taller then the RAM PCB.

As you can see with the cooler with the fans pointed up to the top of the case the heatpipes are a hair away from the RAM. If the RAM was any taller it would not fit.

With the cooler rotated in the standard position of fans pointed to rear of the case the cooler clears, but the fan does go over the first slot. If there was 40mm+ tall RAM this would not work. The forward fan would need to be removed.

With it mounted fans blowing front to back, I fired up prime real quick to get a temp. With the X2 255 running stock at 3.1Ghz the temps came in at 18*C Idle and 24*C Load, fans running 100%.
