It is not an everyday occurrence that FedEx drops off box that was overnight mailed containing a $1200 video card, but that is what happened when we got the ASUS ARES video card yesterday! ASUS claims that this limited edition video card has unlimited power and they might be right. Now, it would be a sight to see this against a pair of GTX 480's in a dual GPU shoot out. ( I can wish can't I ? )

If only I had two GTX480 video cards... Not one company wants to send me one after I tried to cook an egg on the reference card. Sucks to be black balled

Kudos for a beautiful execution of design and function.
Not easy to keep a card this cool.

No mention is typically made of the card's smoothness when running benchmarks and games in these reviews (unless the choppiness is severe).
I can get high marks occasionally in my system but I seldom get a smooth presentation.
Is there room to include this info in the review?

Also, I sometimes wonder if it's worth it to review games that are already running at above 100 fps at 19x12.
A simple note that states "as game "x" ran at over 150 fps in our 5770 review, we just didn't bother to include it in the review."
I personally only care about the games that royally kick cpu's butts; 53.8 fps for the fastest card ever made, that's some serious butt kicking (while at 273 fps ... does anyone really care?)
Few would spend 1200 semolians unless they were trying to get playable frame rates on games that bring even high performance cards to their knees.

basically all the cards tested in this review can handle any game at playable or smooth playback so it's not exactly important, only on the lower end card reviews would even be mentioned if it were or were not true

but as a general rule: First person shooters should be 45-60 fps- 60 is ideal, for racing games 30fps is fine(most FPS's like TF2 or Killing Floor i hate playing/wont play under 45fps) as far as playability/smoothness

also, i agree. didnt see the batman results until today, 320fps is a bit much, time for crysis 2 to come out haha(too bad he didnt have more than a day to do testing tho!)
