EVGA GeForce GTX 470 Hydro Copper FTW Video Card Review

EVGA teamed up with Swiftech to deliver a water cooling solution for the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 470 'For The Win' edition video card that makes it hard to ignore. The EVGA Hydro Copper waterblock uses a 0.6x0.6mm thin pin matrix, and the base plate is made of chrome plated electrolytic C110 copper which gives it a clean look. The integrated heat pipe connects to the power mosfet heatsink for optimal cooling and the end result is a card capable of massive overclocks!

In four of our six games the EVGA GeForce GTX 470 Hydro Copper was the card to beat. The most impressive showing for the EVGA GeForce GTX 470 Hydro Copper was Metro 2033. The EVGA GeForce GTX 470 Hydro Copper FTW was able to double the performance of the HIS Radeon HD 5870 at 1280x1024 and was 62% faster at 1920x1080. In the Aliens Vs. I am trying to think of the situation where I would buy one.

I would have to be doing SLI because otherwise Id just get 2 460s; which blow 1 470, even super super overclocked out of the water. And then Id have to not have enough money to get 2 480's with a waterblock; because otherwise why wouldnt you? and Id have to really want to do watercooling because otherwise I could just get 2 480s, which are probably as fast as 2 overclocked 470s.

It is a really good looking product, but the pricing and performance level just does not make sense.
