Last week we had the opportunity to visit AMD's Austin, Texas headquarters to preview their upcoming 'Brazos' development platform and actually got some hands-on testing with a Fusion APU system prior to its launch. AMD is allowing us to post up a little bit of information on this upcoming platform today, but the performance numbers that we recorded are under still under embargo. Today, we will be bringing you some high-level impressions, chip architecture details and pictures of an MSI notebook that is running an AMD APU called Zacate.

Re: AMD Vision - The $399 Brazos Notebook Platform Preview
I'm sorry, that's a couple hours of your life that you'll never get back.Yes, we even spent a couple hours watching MacGruber on the Brazos Platform!
I do wish that AMD were more competitive in the notebook arena. As it stands now if you want a good laptop then the only viable option is Intel. With better power consumption and performance AMD is the red-headed stepchild of laptops. Hopefully this move will get them going in the right direction.

Yet another great review!
Wow! This looks like a great product.
Seem like it will utilize RAM much more efficiently too.
Heck, I have a old Athlon 2.1 Ghz desktop I use for internet
and can’t even watch a friggin YouTube video on it!
This APU architecture is refreshing….for a change.

I don't see why you can't . My Athlon Notebook ( which i always use , and i always hated intel ) which is clocked 2.0ghz DC plays any videos smoothly .jnanster wrote:Yet another great review!

Well don't get me started on gaming , it's ridiculous , especially with the 6150 in this thing .
