I did a careful review of the subject (mediaplayers) and the king of the hill is the HDi Dune HD Base 3.0 or the prime, depending on your needs. this player is the best when it comes to film or sound quality period. Sure there are cheaper alternatives but you will always lack some features with other players and if you ever see the quality of this player, you will regret buying anything else... care to make a review of that one maybe?

oh and it was compatible with any HDD I ever throw at it (about 30 different ones so far)
