Intel Unveils Sandy Bridge: Core i7 2600K, i5 2500K, i5 2400, i3 2100 CPUs

It seems just like yesterday that Intel launched the Core 2 Duo series of CPU's and re-established itself as the king of the hill for x86 CPU's. As hard as it may be to believe that was four and a half years ago. Intel has just released their 2nd generation Intel Core Processor family and you might be shocked to see just how well these 'mainstream' processors tear up many of the processors on the market today. You also need to look at how well they overclock!

It's going to be a great year for a new PC.

That 4.9ghz performance is just amazing. Will have to wait to see how the Hexacores perform, and how AMD counters.

I wanted to put together a new rig for myself based on i7 950 but seeing this review I changed my mind. who needs triple channel i7 when a dual channel beats the crap out of it with less temps and power usage!

I will go for the i5 2500K and OC it. it seems to be the best bang for the buck

was going to stay on 775 for a year or two, but damn does sandy look good now. also considering 2500k

Nice. Sandy Bridge exceeded my expectations. Those results are better than AnandTech's Sandy Bridge preview.

I'm excited about the AVX instruction set. I'm hoping to see applications make use of it. Perhaps even physics engines being optimized for it.

my i7 875k would be in par with i5 2500k boohoo! anyhooo did not regret buying this proc last year
