AMD Radeon HD 6790 1GB Video Card Review
AMD wanted a video card to fill in the price and performance gap between the Radeon HD 6850 and the Radeon HD 5770. The release of the Radeon HD 6790 graphics card at the $149.99 price point should fill that gap and give the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti a run for its money. Read on to see how the AMD Radeon HD 6790 compares to dozens of other cards and yes, we also overclock it and show you the thermals and power numbers!

Looking at the 550ti and 6790 here I think Nvidia and AMD are trying to reduce the performance level at the $150 price point. But luckily with GTX 460s on the market, and board makers/retailers cut throat pricing these new $150 cards will be forced down to a reasonable price. Which I would put at around $110 for the 550ti and $125 for the 6790.

well the GTX 550 Ti came out at $149 and it's down to $115 now... This card is coming out at $149 and since the 6850 can be had for $145 and the 5770 is $99... I agree with you, it would be nice to see this card down to $125 or so after rebate. It would split the price perfectly as well.

I spent most of the review trying to find the card in the graphs. Is there any way to make the reviewed card stand out? It took less than 5 seconds to draw a box around the product in Photoshop and highlight it.

I'm open to any and all suggestions on how to make the charts better.
If you know of a system that works please let me know, but it would be nice to have something that works in Excel. We don't have much time to do these reviews, so a quick method would be nice. I can change the gradient in the charts like I do in the AvP overclocking chart, but when I add the next card to the list I have to set the gradient back to normal and then re-select the card on each chart. With 10+ charts it adds up to 30mins to an hour of extra work.
I can always remove cards from the chart, but I always felt that more data is better than leaving data out.
For example I got a new video card on Friday, got the drivers today and the NDA lifts on it tomorrow. You have to remember all the benchmarks, charts, testing, pictures, writing, overclocking and everything is being done in under a day usually. An extra hour to do highlights just isn't there. I was up from 5am in the morning yesterday till 2am this morning doing the 6790 review.

What about just highlighting the cell in Excel? That shouldn't take too much time right? Or even just bold the card that is being reviewed. Right now it's a cluttered mess, IMHO.
